I remember having a really positive experience there, and I am happy to report that the same level of service and hospitality is still present. The staff are so welcoming and helpful-- I highly recommend Brooklyn Baklava for some of the freshest, competitively priced baklava around. Walking into the store and smelling the wafting aroma of freshly baked baklava from the back is an experience unlike any other. ”

I always head to the counter and point at the pieces I like to have and it's by weight, so you have lot of flexibility on how much you want to have on your end, I have to say any pieces are good, some are more heavier than others, nowadays i like the smaller pieces. every time I had it, i wanted more, and it's always fresh, nutty and delicious! “ Hubby and I came across this store when we were walking around in this area after an early dinner. I was craving dessert. When you walk into the store, left and right sides of the store, there are tables attacked with desserts and treats. There are 2 refrigerators with cold drinks. Hubby got himself a lemon and ginger soda which was quite refreshing and it was only $2. How cool is that! The guy behind the counter let us try a piece of baklava with walnuts each which was good. However, I thought $8 for 4 pieces was a bit much. I doubt end up buying any. The ambiance was nice. They also had Arabic ice cream. I think we were still full from dinner so didn't feel like buying dessert. There's always next time. ”

“ Brooklyn Baklava is one of my most visited dessert spot. Baklava is a mid eastern pastry that is sweet; some might say, too sweet. I love it though, it's flakey on the outside and chewy on the inside and bottom. The baklava has nuts inside. The original is the walnut and pistachio, but this spot has all! My favorite is the cashew, it very different and love the sweet syrup that it is soaked in. The shop smells so good when you walk inside. I have only visit them once since they moved to Bay Ridge from Downtown Brooklyn. The service from the owner is friendly. They also sell pies with stuffings inside. Tasty too! Besides Baklava they also have other items like mahmoud, nuts and dates. ”

“ I admit I have never had baklava here, but this place gets 5 stars for their savory pies! So many days coming home from work I'd drop by and grab a spinach or lamb pie as a treat. They are HUGE and so filling, and at around $6, they were a cheap, quick meal. Part of me is sad they moved locations further away from my train stop, but glad that they are still going strong. I definitely need to get out to their new location and finally try their baklava. NB: right now Yelp marks this place as closed, but it is actually OPEN. The address is just wrong here, and they've moved locations from Boerum Hill closer to Bay Ridge / Borough Park. ”
